Club Information
Why would I be a Vice President?
Being a Vice President of Cleobury Mortimer Rugby Club means that you are a fan who wishes to show support for the club by not only turning out to watch the games but to help in a financial way. It's a small commitment of £30 per season which benefits both the club and the donator and makes them a member of 'the club' without having to play or be part of the organising committee.
There of other benefits:-
- Club members can apply for England International tickets at Twickenham and occasionally, away tickets.
- Club members are automatically members of Cleobury Mortimer Sports and Social Club for the season.
- All Club Members are invited to Vice President's Day for a Lunch.
The Vice President's Day is an annual event, usually held at the Sports and Social Club, and is a 2 course luncheon served before the 1st XV league game that afternoon. We try to stage a 2nd XV game as well so that there is plenty for all the VP's to watch. The cost for the meal is a minimal £10 per head and guests are always welcome.
Being a Pitch Board Sponsor
We are lucky enough to have some superb facilities on which to play our rugby and although we hire all of these facilities we are able to rent out pitch side boards to local businesses as a way of creating some income for the club. These boards can be 'brought' for the season at a cost of £250.00, which includes the designing of the board with the company logo etc on it. More information about 'Pitch Boards' can be obtained from Simon Hector on 01299 270715. Being a board sponsor also makes you a club member and you therefore become entitled to all the benefits listed above.
Being a Club Sponsor
Club Sponsor's are usually small businesses with a keen, generally, personal interest in Cleobury Mortimer Rugby Club. For a £1,000 donation you would receive a pitch-side board, the company name on the first team shirts for that season, an invite to the VP dinner and Annual Presentation Evening celebrations at the end of the season both free of charge, as well as all the usual club members benefits listed above.
How do I apply for International Tickets?
To apply for international tickets to watch England play at Twickenham, you must first be a club member and have paid your subscription (£30 for a VP or £30 for a player). Next, let Freddie know what tickets you want and you'll be put on the list for that game. These tickets are sold at face value on a first come first served basis and, currently, range from £50 to £75. We have very limited numbers of tickets for all the England 'home' games so time is of the essence. The club receives its allocation from the RFU about 4-months before the games are to be played and we have to return these forms back within about a month of receiving them, in order to secure these tickets. Because of the time element and the increased costs associated with travelling to Twickenham, we often have a surplus of tickets and when we do we can sell to 'Licensed Operators'. These are hospitality companies, approved by the RFU, and offer to buy our tickets at face value plus a bonus, so it does mean that the club can earn some money from selling these tickets if the club members do not want them.
